Who we are

The Ceped Coppe – Center for Studies and Practices of Engineering for Disaster– was created on May 15, 2023, as a laboratory linked to the Production Engineering Program at Coppe, UFRJ.

Despite its formal connection to Production Engineering, the laboratory promotes the integration of different graduate engineering programs at Coppe in support of teaching, research, and extension activities focused on disasters and humanitarian aid.

The mission of Ceped Coppe is the development, integration, and implementation of different projects and research in the context of disasters and humanitarian aid with the participation of the engineering programs at Coppe, UFRJ. The vision of Ceped Coppe is to consolidate itself as a reference at the municipal, state, federal, and international levels in engineering actions throughout the disaster lifecycle (i.e., mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery).
